"Donations now being accepted..."
Well, just when i thought we were safe, we had another power surge problem last Friday night as we were entertaining dinner guests. This time our upstairs tv and one of haywood's high-end amps were damaged. I haven't been able to get online with my ancient laptop since Friday, hence the lack of updates to my blog. That has also made it difficult to shop for a new pc online, since I would never in a million years buy one from a local retailer :-)
I'll be pretty busy trying to get estimates on everything that has been damaged so we can file a claim with our insurance - i'm sure it will take weeks to sort everything out and have a fully functioning household again. On the upside - our new TiVo should be arriving any minute now. DirecTV sold us a replacement, but they have to actually get a guy to come here to plug in the cables - ugh - whatever, at least we'll have our TiVo back.
On a happy note... congratulations to my cousin Pam, who got engaged this weekend! Her fiance took her to the Bluebell Woods in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and knelt down to pretend he was getting something out of his camera bag and he popped the question! I am so thrilled for them both - they're a great couple.
