so i have decided to become a stand-up comic... hey look, you're laughing already! ;-) I practice on my cubemates at work on a regular basis. I finally made one guy laugh yesterday...and he's a tough one, so I was pretty proud when he said "that was actually funny!!" - now if I could just remember what I said so I can use it over and over again - really run it into the ground, like Dat Phan and the jokes about his mom. I know i'd never make it in stand-up because I laugh at my own jokes. That's a real no-no. Bob Saget is a prime example. I never knew others noticed that until yesterday when i looked up "Bob Saget laughs at his own jokes" in Google and found that there was an episode of South Park that spoofed that same idea. I'm glad I'm not totally crazy.

TiVo - possibly the world's greatest invention to date. Makes it possible to overbook yourself from here to eternity catching up on everything from lost episodes of the Golden Girls to the Fab 5 piping foie gras onto crackers (I still can't believe no one liked the foie gras!). Sierra's found a new use for this fabulous tool.... she uses the Pause Live TV and the rewind button so she can replay commercials for various art supplies, toys and other products she'd like me to buy for her. and i thought one of the beauties of TiVo was the ability to skip past those very commercials :-D

last night i was working in photoshop, using the color picker and out of nowhere, sierra asks, "mommy, what color are you gonna pick, Madagascar Blue?" madagascar blue, huh? she's been watching too much of the "maybe, maybe a little tree...HERE!" guy. you know the guy - the one with the big beard that uses a 3 inch wall brush on his canvas... next episode... yellow ochre and van dyke brown.
